Christmas tree lighting ceremony Nov. 24

Connections Networking, a local group of business professionals known for their Hot Summer Nites series, is excited to announce a new winter event.

“Wishing on a Star,” part of Warm Winter Nites, will be held Saturday, November 24, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Fallbrook Village Square and is the lead-up to the Christmas tree lighting at 5 p.m.

This year the tree ornaments have been created by local children and seniors and all involved will get an opportunity to hang their own ornament at this event.

Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves will have gifts for the first 100 children and warm cider, cookies and roasted nuts will be available for free.

Entertainment includes seasonal music, Christmas carols and a special performance by Miss Fallbrook, Kate Derr.

Following the tree lighting, the Historic Downtown Merchants will continue the festivities with horse-drawn wagon rides, caroling by the Fallbrook Chorale and special shopping hours.

For more information about this event, contact Sandra Buckingham at (760) 723-8987 or Gail Martin at (760) 931-8388.
