Bates to show paintings at Museum of Art

Jim Bates’ watercolors have been juried into Fine Art Festival IV along with 32 other artists from the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild.

The festival will be held November 9-11 in James S. Copley Auditorium, located in the west wing of the San Diego Museum of Art. Preview is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the general show open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

All art on display will be available for purchase and a portion of all sales benefits the museum. The Fine Art Festivals are a fundraising benefit for the museum that enables them to purchase art for their permanent collection.

Bates is a member of the Fallbrook Art Association, the San Diego Art Institute, the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild and the San Diego Watercolor Society. He is also the 2006 Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Artist of the Year.

He has been a Fallbrook resident since 1989.
