FALLBROOK — The San Luis Rey Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) has announced total donations of $9,761 to 12 local charitable and community service organizations.
In addition, $7,000 in scholarship money was granted to worthy local senior girls to attend a college of their choice and $1,600 was gifted to the Kids on the Block disability awareness program operated by NCL volunteers.
Monies donated are a direct result of the mothers and daughters of this organization making charitable donations and working fundraiser events, as well as the annual NCL-sponsored fundraiser held in the spring that is supported by chapter members, their families and the community’s businesses and citizens.
The money was distributed to:
• Casa de Amparo – $600
• Fallbrook Child Development Center – $1,000
• Fallbrook Community Center – $500
• Fallbrook Land Conservancy – $700
• Fallbrook Library Summer Reading Program – $300
• Fallbrook People to People – $300
• New Haven – $1,000
• North County Lifeline – $500
• Palomar Family Counseling – $500
• REINS – $1,000
• Special Olympics – $650
• Women’s Resource Center – $2,711
The San Luis Rey Chapter currently volunteers for 31 philanthropic organizations and volunteered more than 10,000 total hours in the past year.
