Governor refers to Fallbrook visit

Governor Schwarzenegger mentioned Fallbrook during a press briefing with the San Diego Association of Governments in San Diego.

Tuesday, October 30: “We also want to thank again – and thanks to President Bush we have been granted the request of the declaration of a disaster area here in California, and that helps us again with getting a lot of federal assistance, especially for nurseries, avocado and flower growers that are hit very hard here in this area. They can apply immediately for low-interest federal loans.

“I was in Fallbrook earlier today and we have seen the tremendous damage that the growers have suffered. And we also have seen a trailer park, a trailer home park, that was wiped out completely, which was the Valley Oaks Trailer Park.

“I met with several of the families there that were hit and I want to say thank you to those that assisted them as quickly. And they have the insurance adjustors out there already, so I think there is a lot of work that is being done already.”
