Iowa Street students study brain

“How much of the brain can be folded into the human skull?” “Are you a right brain or left brain person?” These questions and more were answered during a recent “hands-on” enrichment class at Iowa Street School Home Education.

Junior high students created a Brain Fact Foldable Book combining summary writing techniques with experiments. They then explored interactive brain Web sites in preparation for their dissection of a sheep brain. They truly became one with the brain.

Enrichment classes are held each Wednesday for grades seven and eight. Information is available at (760) 731-5440 and http://bes.fuesd.k12.ca.us/iss/iowaweb.html.
