Christmas Parade Dec. 1

The 26th Annual Fallbrook Christmas Parade is approaching: December 1 at 5 p.m.

The parade will feature floats, bands and group entries and the United States Marine Corps Marching Band will be the lead musical unit.

The Budweiser Clydesdales will finally make their appearance, after being forced to cancel last year due to inclement weather in the Sierras, where they were filming a commercial a few days prior to the parade.

The theme of the Parade is “Hometown Memories” and Dode Martin, a resident of Fallbrook since 1926, has been selected as Grand Marshal.

Other featured entrants of the 2007 parade are the Shriners in their miniature “Tin Lizzies,” participants in many large parades, as well as Ronald McDonald and at least four antique fire trucks. As always, the parade will consist of more than 100 entries.

Because the parade is so large, volunteers are needed to help with such things as putting out barricades, directing visitors and working in the information booth at Carl’s Jr.

Sponsors are also needed. The names of the sponsors will be featured in the Parade Guide, which will be published in local newspapers a few days prior to the parade.

To volunteer or become a sponsor, or for more general information, call Carol at the Chamber at (760) 728-5845.
