Hospital offering flu shot clinic Nov. 17

Fallbrook Hospital will hold a flu shot clinic on Saturday, November 17, from 8 to 11 a.m.

Available for people age 9 and up, the vaccines are recommended for those who are at high risk of getting the flu based on the guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Those groups include adults 50 and older, people with chronic medical problems such as heart disease and asthma, women who are pregnant and caregivers and healthcare workers who work directly with patients.

There is no charge for the vaccine, which will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. The preservative-free vaccine now required for pregnant women and vaccines for children under the age of 9 will not be offered.

Fallbrook Hospital is located at 624 East Elder Street.
