Still convinced the delay was inexcusable

I am still convinced that the 48 hour delay in lifting the general evacuation order is inexcusable. There is a heavy emotional, financial and general hardship toll on those who evacuated, especially when it is plain to see that there is not any reasonable explanation to be kept out of our homes. The financial hardship on a lot of the evacuees is not even comprehensible to the overpaid bureaucrats who delayed the lifting of the evacuation order. Wages are not being earned. There is added and extra expense of food and lodging away from home.

Perhaps the worst consequence of this bureaucratic bungling is the adversarial feeling this placed between we the people and our police forces. Instead of joyfully returning to our homes with a can do attitude, arm in arm with our police forces and fire department, these bureaucrats set our police forces against us like jack booted storm troopers to keep us out of our homes. Then our police forces (who are doing their duty as ordered by these incompetent bureaucrats) are subjected to the ire of a very irate and frustrated public. Apologies to our police. This was for our own good?

We do not need a police state arbitrarily or stupidly keeping us out of our homes.

We the people, (taxpayers), formed a government to serve us. We hire people to run this government for our benefit. Part of their duties is to make and implement evacuation plans for emergencies and to get us back to our homes immediately when the danger is past. We have been severely let down by our employees that we hired to take care of these duties for us. No matter how good they organized and carried out part of their job, they have proved their incompetence to make and carry out a complete plan. We hired them to do a complete job. We need to remove these incompetents from their positions immediately and replace them with employees that are capable of doing the complete job that they are hired to do.
