Windfall profits

Due to the Santa Ana winds and firestorm many of us had extra debris and yard waste to discard, from fallen branches and the like. We had hoped to see a spirit of community cooperation from Fallbrook Waste; however, they adamantly refused to take anything over their usual 10-bag limit, even though they collected nothing during the week of the fires.

Moreover, for many weeks we put nothing at all out for collection. So instead of having some compassion and cutting the residents of Fallbrook some slack in these horrific times they are more interested in their profiteering.

They will gladly rent you a three-cubic-yard Dumpster for $125 or charge you $4 per yard waste bag if you deliver it to them. And they now have a waiting list for Dumpsters while we sit with our yard waste – which itself could be a fire hazard. What does Fallbrook Waste propose that we do with it while they rake in their windfall profits?

The whole world responded to our plight but a local business has a shameless could-care-less attitude.

Lastly, please recall what our Governor said about those who practice exploitation during times of emergency.
