Children's Holiday Workshop offered

ESCONDIDO — Families looking for a fun and educational way to spend a few hours on a beautiful December day are invited to discover the San Diego Archaeological Center’s Culture Classroom as it is transformed into a “Children’s Holiday Workshop” on Saturday, December 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Participants ages 4 and up will learn about the archaeology, history and natural environment of San Diego with hands-on lessons combining both imagination and science. Each child will have the opportunity to replicate essential life skills of people in the past by creating unique items such as friendship bracelets, clay vases and sculptures and picture frames that also make perfect keepsakes for holiday gifts. Festive holiday wrapping and tags will also be available for the participants to keep their gifts a surprise.

Admission to this activity is free to Center members, suggested $5 donation for non-members, $10 maximum for families.

The San Diego Archaeological Center is located at 16666 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido (1.1 miles past the Wild Animal Park). For more information, contact Annemarie Cox at (760) 291-0370 or [email protected] or visit http://www.sandiego
