Helping kids learn to reduce, reuse and recycle

SACRAMENTO — The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) recently announced the launch of their youth Web site, www.kidsbegreen.org. The purpose of the site is to educate children between the ages of 6 and 12 about the three environmental ‘R’s: reduce, reuse and recycle.

With more than six million children in California under the age of 12, the CIWMB recognizes the need to reach out to a younger audience with easy-to-understand information and tips on the importance of reducing and recycling waste.
