Angel Society donates funds, supplies

FALLBROOK — REINS Therapeutic Horsemanship Program was one of the recipients of funds voted on at the October meeting of the Angel Society.

After the meeting several board members had the unexpected pleasure of meeting Kurt Diesel, a businessman who recently took a position in Fallbrook because his 5-year-old son, suffering from Cerebral Palsy, has been participating in the program at REINS since he was two years old.

“Our son loves going to the ranch,” said Diesel, “and my wife and I are extremely grateful for the physical help and mental stimulation they provide.”

The Angels voted donations to the Fallbrook High Band Boosters for their immediate needs and to the Keep Fallbrook Clean and Green battery recycling program.

Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary Courier Service will use the funds they receive for their volunteer program that takes more than 2,500 patients each year to medical appointments.

Fallbrook Film Factory needed help to bring digital filmmaking opportunities to creative people who would not ordinarily get to experience them.

It is safe to say that all 600 members of the Angel Society were affected by the recent wildfires. The Angels were able to help fire victims in various ways.

Clothing was given to the Presbyterian Church for distribution to those in need immediately after the fires and boxes from the shop were made available.

Regular donations of clothing are given to the homeless centers and to homeless teens on the beach.

Angels do not forget the animal rescue centers; permanent boxes are replenished with “items unfit for sale” for their use.

Through generous donations from the community, the Angel Boutique above the thrift shop is filled with new and “gently” used clothing that is being offered for sale on December 11. The Shop will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. for this event, which will also feature a room full of dolls for sale.

The Angel Shop is located at 1002 South Main Avenue.
