Chino Hills High School adopts Fallbrook

The student body of Chino Hills High School of Orange County adopted Fallbrook and its fire victims by holding a fund drive which produced nearly $3,000. These funds were used to purchase gift certificates for Albertson’s, Vons, Safeway, Target, Kohl’s, Home Depot and many other merchants. The certificates will be distributed to local fire victims through the assistance of the Fallbrook Ministerial Association.

The charitable drive was led by Chino Hills Director of Student Activities Janet Roberts. Roberts was a close friend and devotee of Bob Burton, Fallbrook High School’s beloved former activities director. She considers him her mentor and has integrated many of Burton’s Fallbrook activities into the Chino Hills activities program.

In 2004, Roberts was selected California Outstanding Student Activities Director of the Year by CADA, the state professional organization of High School Directors of Student Activities.

Roberts is the daughter of Steve and Jean Smith, longtime residents of Fallbrook.
