Gratitude for a hero

We would like to send a heartfelt thank-you to Fallbrook resident Mr. Peter Hakkenburg for his bravery in choosing to not evacuate and his turning back from following his wife to safety.

Rather, he risked his life in order to fight off the fires on both his and our parents’ property, thus saving both of their homes and avocado groves from complete devastation. We will be forever grateful for his heroic deeds.
