Re: 'Water agencies deliver grim cutback message' [Village News, 11/22]

This article is a joke. First of all, Mr. Lewinger does not make final major FPUD decisions. The FPUD Board of Directors, under the leadership of the chairman of that board, Mr. McDougal, is required by law to make all major decisions concerning the control of FPUD’s water.

Mr. Lewinger does not even live in Fallbrook; he lives in Carlsbad. FPUD originally paid Mr. Lewinger $10,000 to move from the Otay Mesa water district to Carlsbad (not Fallbrook), a decision I have never been able to understand.

If there is sufficient water for FPUD to allow building permits for new construction, then there is no need to negatively affect the avocado industry by reducing the amount of water avocado farmers receive by approximately 30 percent. Shame, shame, shame.

FPUD’s directors prefer to eliminate thousands of agricultural jobs instead of construction jobs for new residents and to heck with existing residents. They should all be kicked out in the next election.

It is a simple act by the directors to not accept new customers until the crisis is over – otherwise, the potential for fraud exists. An FBI investigation is needed.

We already have a paid lobbyist on FPUD’s Board of Directors. Why hasn’t someone in authority appealed the water pumping decision by the Nazi environmentalist judge in Sacramento?

Years ago I published articles in the North County Times strongly recommending desalination, instead of wasting money on the stupid Santa Margarita projects. There is even a desalination process available by which waste, power plant steam and vacuum distillation can be used to produce super pure water in large quantities at very low cost. However, all FPUD directors, except Arne Gunnersson, wasted our money paying lobbyists.
