The Boys & Girls Clubs of North County were selected to participate in the 13th Annual “Shop with a Jock” sponsored by the Junior Seau Foundation.
Club members were asked to write an essay that answered the question “If you had $100 to buy someone special a gift, who would you buy a gift for and why?”
Ten winners were chosen from the responses, while two staff members were chosen to go with the children.
The members and staff attended a festive party with food and games. Each child was given a Nike backpack filled with Chargers items, then paired up with a professional athlete and given a $100 gift certificate to shop at Mervyns.
