Quilters enjoy Christmas festivities

Fallbrook Quilt Guild continued to celebrate its 20th anniversary with their annual Christmas dinner catered by the Lace Apron on December 6. The dinner was enjoyed by the more than 90 members in attendance.

Guild President Carol Carpenter surprised the dinner crowd with a delightful performance from CAST Productions Show Choir directed by Sandra Kopitzke. They sang and danced to many favorite Christmas songs.

The Guild also received a visit from Santa – a.k.a. Jim Freda – and two Christmas elves, Mackenzie and Ryan Roche.

Viewers Choice Awards were announced from the quilt show in November; winners were awarded gift certificates from The Quilter’s Cottage.

In the traditional quilt category, Linda Wright won first place, Deb Raver second and Betsy Levering third. For quilted wearables, Dianne Puckett received the most votes, followed by Susan Walz in second place and Betsy Shirkey third.

The evening was complete with the traditional reading of “The Night before Christmas” while passing fat quarters (quarter-yard pieces of fabric) between members.
