Thank you for a great day at preserve

Thank you to the 25 to 30 marvelous volunteers who came out to Los Jilgueros Preserve last week with shovels in hand and love in their hearts to assist the 290 La Paloma Elementary School students plant San Diego County native plants at the preserve.

The day was beautiful, the dirt was soft and the students were eager to plant and willing to work. Gary Beeler and his crew of helpers did a great job of preparing the area to be planted and everyone who worked with the students did a terrific job!

Thank you to the teachers and principal at La Paloma for their support in making the field trip possible for the students. It was a great learning experience for me, as I hope it was for the students.

I really appreciate the willingness of the La Paloma staff to continue to support this partnership between Save Our Forests of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy and the school. It is our hope that these students will continue to care for the environment and this community throughout their lives.
