In-Home Concert Series coming in 2008

Musicians Workshop’s In-Home Concert Series continues. Now going into its sixth year, three more in-home concerts will be performed at local Valley Estate Homes.

The Feb. 9 concert will include Maria Muldar. On April 19 Tom Rush will perform. On Oct. 4 “It’s a Beautiful Day” with David LaFlamme will show.

Maria Muldaur recently released her new album, “Naughty Bawdy and Blue,” the third in a series of CDs of classic blues material from the ‘20s through to the ‘40s. This time however Maria changes her focus from country blues to the vaudeville blues artists.

Tom Rush’s early recordings introduced the world to the work of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and James Taylor, and in more recent years his Club 47 concerts have brought artists such as Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin to wider audiences when they were just beginning to build their own reputations.

David LaFlamme’s intrigue in the violin started at an early age. By the late ‘60s LaFlamme started as an icon in the San Francisco Filmore East and West underground music scene. “It’s a Beautiful Day” with David LaFlamme broke through the pop charts with a platinum album of the same name, forever immortalized by the hit song “White Bird,” which stayed on Billboard’s Top 10 chart for several weeks.
