Angel Society donates funds to local organizations

FALLBROOK — The Angel Society recently donated $1,250 to Community Day School.

Student Fidel Moreno’s letter to the Angel Society requested the funds to be used for gardening supplies to create a rose garden for the school, located in the Fallbrook School District offices.

Irma Gaspar had written, “We want to make this school a better looking place because life is beautiful and the place where you are working or getting your education should be a beautiful place.”

Seth Ernst Morgan said, “I would be proud to help make our school beautiful but we need your help.”

Teacher Jana Scott, who conceived the idea, knew the Angel Society was the place to go for help because they had funded her flower garden project at La Paloma eight years ago and assisted with a similar project when she was at Potter Junior High.

Other organizations benefiting from Angel Society funding this month are:

• Santa’s Toy Project – $5,000 to fulfill dreams of children in military families of lower-level enlisted personnel

• Legacy Endowment Fund for Rice Canyon Fire victims – $3,000

• Fallbrook Historical Society – $2,000 to cover costs for some basic inside furnishings for their new barn

• Fallbrook Beautification Alliance – $2,000 to help maintain projects in Fallbrook and Bonsall area

Fallbrook High School field hockey team – $1,000 to purchase new goals and nets

• Fallbrook Street School – $350 to fund a field trip providing a science, math and history experience for 40 students

Additionally, Fallbrook Food Pantry was presented with $2,000 in gift cards for use in the Angel Shop. The cards will be distributed to needy families who were not “adopted” in their Christmas program.

At their December business meeting, the Angel Board of Directors expressed their appreciation to the volunteers responsible for the success of the organization.
