White House practices 'plausible deniability'

In his “staged” news conference on December 4, George Bush again utilized the old White House tactic of “plausible deniability.”

When asked when he knew of the intelligence community’s latest finding that Iran had no nuclear weapons program since 2003, his response was something like this: “I’d heard that such a report existed since as early as August 2007 but didn’t get the ‘official briefing’ until just a week ago.” Ergo, “plausible deniability!”
