AAUW presents Tech Trek, EF/LAF tea

The American Association of University Women’s Tech Trek and Educational Foundation (EF) tea party is slated for January 12 at 10 a.m., at the Fallbrook Women’s Club, 238 West Mission Road. It will feature tables with unique themes and flair.

The organization will honor the work done by EF, which provides funding for women who go on to do graduate work. The Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF) provides legal support for women who have encountered sexual discrimination in the workplace and may have been denied advancement or termination.

Tech Trek is a program sponsored by AAUW that selects and sends girls entering the eighth grade who have shown promise in math, science or technology to a week-long program at the University of California, San Diego. This year former Tech Trekkers will prepare a short talk on how the event benefited them.

Susan Duling chairs the selection of new campers to Tech Trek this spring and has organized the tea presentation.
