Daffodil Days bouquets help fight cancer

Caring people can brighten their lives and join the fight against cancer by volunteering as Daffodil Days coordinators during the American Cancer Society’s 25th annual Daffodil Days Campaign.

Volunteers are needed to take orders at their work sites for the bright yellow flowers now through Wednesday, February 27, with deliveries scheduled for March 17-20.

Proceeds from the sale of the first flower of spring – and the symbol of hope – support critical research that can make a healthy future possible for many San Diegans. Funds will also be used for local education and patient services for all types of cancer.

Current statistics indicate that some 12,000 San Diegans will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in the coming year and more than 4,600 will die of the disease.

Interested volunteers will be invited to a kickoff party on January 16 to learn more about the campaign. Call (619) 682-7474 for information.
