Hallmark Communities offers free 'needs assessment' service

SAN DIEGO — Mike Hall, president of Hallmark Communities, points out that as homeowners work through the insurance settlement process on their homes, it is important that they know how much it will cost to clear and prepare their lots as well as to build their homes – not overlooking things like decks and landscaping.

“It is very important as people begin the process that they understand what their full scope of responsibilities is relative to the rebuilding of their home. This includes spelling out such things as who is responsible for utilities’ costs during construction as well as insurance for the contractors and subcontractors working on the site,” Hall said. “As we learned four years ago, the stress of rebuilding can be lessened for families if they know what to expect and understand the intricacies of the process.”

Hallmark Communities is offering a free “needs assessment” service, in which they will evaluate each lot and the residents’ specific rebuilding requirements such as size, footprint, decks, driveways and landscaping.

The analyses, free of obligation, can be scheduled by calling Hallmark Communities at (760) 644-1803.

Hallmark’s Rebuilding San Diego team helped more than 50 families rebuild following the Cedar Fire and was able to move customers into their new homes within 10 to 11 months from the beginning of the permit-acquisition period.

Hallmark Communities is also offering an open house opportunity on Saturday, January 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at two 2003 Scripps Ranch rebuild homes for those interested in meeting several Hallmark customers affected by the 2003 Cedar Fire.

Previous customers will share their rebuild experience. Call Hallmark Communities for location.
