Hongs celebrate 65th

Jim and Nell Hong celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family and close friends at a restaurant in Bonsall. The Hongs were married on December 28, 1942, in San Francisco. They have lived in Fallbrook for 41 years.

The Hongs have four children: Michael Hong, Pasadena; Jerry Hong, Thousand Oaks; Sharon Martin, Venice, CA; and Jeffrey Hong, Northridge. They also have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jim graduated from Washington University with a BS degree in aeronautical engineering. He worked for Lockheed Corporation for 34 years, doing design work on the F8, F104, Constellation, Electra, helicopters and other craft. Later in his career, he was given responsibility for managing manufacturing for the corporation.

The Hongs play golf and Nell is active in the Angel Society and other activities as a volunteer. They are members of Fallbrook United Methodist Church.
