Art show will highlight teens' works

FALLBROOK — Beginning this Saturday evening, January 12, and continuing through January 27, visitors will have the opportunity to view art by a bevy of talented teenage artists at the Art Center.

An opening reception will be held January 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. during which the public can meet the student artists and enjoy refreshments while perusing the many talents on display in the show, “Art of Today, Artists of Tomorrow.”

Teenage artists from Fallbrook, Temecula Valley, Vista, Oceanside and Escondido will provide entries in a variety of mediums – sculpture, paintings, pastel, charcoal, pencil and printmaking, as well as performance and installation pieces.

The students will not only have the benefit of exposure of their work but be eligible to win cash awards in support of their artistic endeavors.

Cash awards have been made available for these young artists through sponsors.

One couple, Paul and Diane Garrett, has generously underwritten the show for the second year. In keeping with their mission of supporting youth through the BetterWorld Together Foundation, headquartered in Temecula, they once again stepped up to help young artists.

The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $5 ($10 for the opening reception); ACF members and students are free.

The Art Center at Fallbrook is located at the corner of Main Avenue and Alvarado Street.
