'Experience China' program to benefit library fund

FALLBROOK — Take an exciting visual tour of China and learn about its history, current environment and anticipated future in a special event offered at the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, March 16, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Presented as a benefit for the Fallbrook Library Building Fund to enable the construction of a new library, the event will be comprised of many unique aspects.

Fallbrook resident and author Joe Littell will enthrall attendees with tales of his childhood in old colonial China and take them on a present-day visit to his old haunts.

Fallbrook High School students will present a musical tribute to the US Olympic team as they prepare for this summer’s games in Beijing. In addition, the High Society Jazz Band will perform Chinese and American jazz as played in a Shanghai nightclub.

Those interested in attending the event can obtain tickets for $12 for adults and $5 for students. Special tickets that include the event and a gala dinner at Peking Wok in Bonsall following the performance are available for $90 each.

Sponsors are being welcomed for the event at three levels: Gold ($2,500-plus), Silver ($1,500) and Bronze ($500). Sponsorship levels offer various benefits, including recognition and a designated number of tickets to the event and gala dinner.

Tickets for the event are available now at Major Market or by calling Elizabeth Roberts at (760) 728-7842.

For more information on becoming a sponsor, call Littell at (760) 728-2361.
