Rugby camp offered

The Fallbrook Rugby Club is hosting a rugby camp for boys and girls ages 12 to 18 on January 12.

Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. at Potter Junior High. The camp starts promptly at 9 and goes until 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The purpose of this camp is to provide training in the rules, regulations and skills of rugby. Fallbrook Rugby has had great success in the past and they were Southern California champs last year.

The cost of the camp – $125 – includes the registration fee for the season. This fee allows the club to provide a mandatory membership to USA Rugby, a Fallbrook Rugby tee shirt, referee fees, tournament fees and a ten-match season with five home matches (which includes the time-honored tradition of an “after-match meal” for all players on both teams).

All players need to bring a parent and a copy of their birth certificate for proper team placement.

Each player will also needs to buy their own shorts and socks. Pacific Rugby Supply has agreed to be there with shorts, socks, bags and additional items at a discount.
