Special evening at Museum of Making Music

A special event Friday, January 25, at 7 p.m. at the Museum of Making Music will feature Muriel Anderson and Thom Bresh.

Anderson is an award-winning guitarist; the son of legendary Merle Travis, Bresh is a noted guitarist and singer.

Widely respected as one of the foremost finger-style guitarists in the world, Anderson’s unique approach to the instrument virtually transforms the guitar into a lyrical choir, then a marching band, then a Japanese koto, then a bluegrass band, amazing audiences with her technique and endearing them with her sense of humor. She is the first woman to have won the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship.

Bresh was inducted into the “Thumbpickers Hall of Fame” in 2001. He has a deep, witty and gritty singing voice. His quick comedic timing and sharp ear have made him an incredible impressionist, which led to two HBO specials. He has hosted his own TV show and has guest starred on numerous others. Behind the scenes, as a producer, he has received two Grammy nominations and one Academy Award nomination.

For ticket information and/or reservations, call (760) 438-5996. The Museum of Making Music is located at 5790 Armada Drive, Carlsbad.
