Grants available through Healthcare District

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Healthcare District has announced that February 5 will be this year’s deadline for organizations wishing to submit Letters of Intent for the grant application process.

The Letter of Intent is the first step involved in the seven phases that comprise the process of possibly securing a grant for an organization to assist in the health and wellbeing of the residents of the district.

Each year since 1999, a portion of the Fallbrook Healthcare District’s revenues (property tax allocation) have been put back into the community through the funding of grants for specific health-related programs and services as well as providing a broad range of other related needs that benefit resident children, adults and senior citizens.

If your organization wishes to apply for a grant from the district, the Letter of Intent must:

• Identify your organization including a brief description of its history and purpose, and contact information.

• Identify the problem/healthcare need that the proposed project addresses.

• Specify the grant amount requested and a description of how grant funds will be used.

• Identify the geographic area to be served and the target population.

• Confirm that recipients/clients of the proposed program live within the District service area: Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow and De Luz.

• Provide proof of nonprofit status (501c3) or other proof of tax exempt status or is a public/governmental agency, program or institution.

• Include grant program budget, indicate what percentage of the agency’s total budget the grant program represents plus a comparative balance sheet for previous two years if available.

It is possible for newly formed healthcare organizations to qualify for consideration for grant funding. The District encourages agencies in development of new healthcare-related programs and services to apply for seed money to further their establishment, especially those that address concerns that are currently un-served.
