San Pasqual Valley Ranch to host roping fundraiser

Team ropers of all ages are invited to participate in a February 2 fundraiser at San Pasqual Valley Ranch’s Cloverdale Arena to benefit California High School Rodeo Association District 8.

The event sanctioned by Roping for Ropers will include a #9 handicap and a #7 handicap. An entry fee of $21 provides a roping team with three steers in a progressive format after the first steer. A roper can enter as many times as he or she wishes as long as separate entry fees are paid.

The event is organized by San Pasqual Valley Ranch trainer and former Bonsall resident Lynn Devenport, who is also a CHSRA parent. In addition to the entry fees, concessions will be available on-site.

The roping will begin at 9 that Saturday morning. Sign-ups for the roping competition will begin at 8 a.m.

The California High School Rodeo Association is divided into nine districts. District 8 covers San Diego, Imperial, Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties and a portion of San Bernardino County.
