Learn to spot drug, alcohol abuse in teens

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Citizens’ Crime Prevention Committee (FCCPC) will present a special program on Tuesday, January 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in order to educate parents and members of the community on how to spot drug and alcohol abuse and gang involvement with teens.

Guest speaker for the meeting will be Phillip Hubbs, 30-year veteran of the San Diego Police Department and executive director of Proactive Network Against Substance Abuse (PRONASA), and his professional team, who will discuss the abuse of over-the-counter and prescription drugs along with household products, which are on the rise with teens. In addition, he will speak about gang violence affecting schools and communities.

Hubbs has a notable background in matters pertaining to juveniles and has been recognized both on a state and national level for his educational programs.

A translator will be provided for the Spanish-speaking in attendance.

The FCCPC has the support of school superintendents from Bonsall, Fallbrook and Vallecitos school districts.

Zion Lutheran Church is located at 1405 East Fallbrook Street.
