Car Club donates to YMCA

Fallbrook Vintage Car Club recently made a donation to the US Marines Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA.

The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club, formed 40 years ago for the preservation and appreciation of older vehicles, supports local nonprofits with the proceeds from its annual car show held on Memorial Day.

The club has a very active membership, meets monthly and welcomes anyone with an interest in the culture. Vintage car ownership is not a criteria for membership.

Visit the club’s Web site, http://www.fallbrookvintagecarclub.com, for more information and an application for membership. This year, for the first time, the annual show will be held on the grounds of Potter Junior High on Sunday, May 25.

The Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA was chartered in 1942 to enhance the lives of military personnel and their family members in spirit, mind and body by offering programs and services which strengthen families and encourage individuals to achieve their fullest potential.

Its core programs and services include Operation Hero, an after-school mentoring and tutorial program for elementary-age children, at seven sites in all five on-base schools; a preschool program based on a “Mommy and Me” format offered at five locations; a recreation center at the School of Infantry located in a remote location on base; and summertime field trips for “special needs” children and their families.
