Car Club donates to Boys & Girls Clubs

The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club has added the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County to its list of nonprofit recipients of the proceeds of its annual car show held Memorial Day weekend.

The Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

It is open to anyone between the ages of 6 and 18 who is in kindergarten through 12th grade and membership is only $25 annually. No child is ever turned away due to financial hardship.

Open during the critical hours when kids most need a place to go after school and during the summertime, the club’s full-time staff is supplemented by part-time workers and volunteers.

This organization is more than 100 years old. More information can be found at http://www.bgcnorthcounty.com.

The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club is a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and was organized more than 40 years ago. It was formed specifically for the appreciation and preservation of older vehicles and has about 75 active members in the Fallbrook area.

It meets monthly and often features speakers on topics relevant to the vintage car world or local civic issues. Vintage car ownership is not a criteria for membership, just an enjoyment of the culture. Application for membership can be found at http://www.fallbrookvintagecarclub.com.
