SANDAG includes 76 funding in Federal appropriation requests

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) board approved a list of 29 projects to be requested in the Fiscal Year 2009 Federal transportation appropriations cycle, and the widening of State Route 76 was among those projects.

SANDAG’s January 25 approval of the request includes seeking $9.0 million to widen Highway 76 between Melrose Drive in Oceanside and Interstate 15. SANDAG has requested a total of $172.35 million for the 2009 Federal appropriations cycle.

The San Diego region received $3.9 million as part of the Fiscal Year 2008 Federal omnibus legislation after SANDAG submitted a request totaling $186 million.
