Former resident publishes Rainbow Valley Adventures

FREDERICK, MD — PublishAmerica is proud to present “Rainbow Valley: Adventures of Jimmy and Lee” by James B. Rice of Surprise, AZ.

James Boren Rice was born in Fallbrook. During the early years of the Great Depression, his father died and he, his mother and siblings moved to her father’s ranch in Rainbow Valley. James completed grammar school in a one-room schoolhouse there.

In his golden years, James started writing about his adventures of growing up during the Depression in Rainbow Valley. His stories tell of his boyhood friendship with his brother Lee and their life on the ranch with their mother and grandfather. Their only source of fun was with their dog Buck, their horses and their imagination in creating their own adventures in the valley.

Lee plans to continue working on the stories of growing up in Rainbow and Fallbrook.
