Tree planting party announced

The Save Our Forest branch of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy (SOF) and El Tigre Market are partners in a special public tree planting event which is scheduled for Saturday, February 16.

SOF will be providing the trees to be planted at the shopping center along with tree planting experts to help novice volunteers.

As always, the objectives of tree planting are to enhance our community, create energy-saving shade and improve air quality for a healthier environment.

Community members of all ages are invited to the center at 1346 South Mission Road at 8 a.m. that morning to sign in as volunteers and get a brief demonstration before tackling the planting of twenty-three new trees.

Volunteers are asked to bring shovels, gloves and hats.

El Tigre will be making the event a real party, providing food, drinks and entertainment for volunteers.

Dennis Lorenz, vice president of operations for El Tigre Corporation, is especially proud of their excellent prepared food and is eager to build on their commitment to the community, offering good quality and competing prices.

Those needing more information on the event can call Jackie Heyneman at (760) 728-5395.
