Envirepel approved to provide to SDG&E

SAN DIEGO — San Diego Gas & Electric announced February 4 that the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has approved its first Power Purchase Agreement with Envirepel Energy for 1.5 megawatt (MW) of renewable energy from the company’s Vista facility.

Two additional Power Purchase Agreements with Envirepel Energy have been signed and are in line to be reviewed by the CPUC for the company’s projects on the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation (7.5 MW) and the Ramona Landfill (7.5 MW).

Founded by Fallbrook resident Tony Arand, Envirepel Energy’s mission is to solve multiple local environmental and energy problems by capturing waste streams where they are generated and converting them into “clean” forms of energy.

Envirepel Energy is committed to supporting Governor Schwarzenegger’s energy development plans for clean energy resources. One megawatt is enough energy to power approximately 650 homes.
