AAUW hears 'From the Inside Out'

The Fallbrook branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) hosted several speakers at their general meeting in February at the Regency.

Program Chair Emma Ureita-Ruiz engaged Pricilla Steiner, director of From the Inside Out, a nonprofit organization that specializes in alternative intervention programs and referral for at-risk teens. It also counsels and mentors teens and young adults who have been incarcerated.

This rehabilitation program has had many success stories and Steiner brought two young men who are now living, learning and earning who spoke to the group.

Reggie Washington and Frankie Markham both spoke of their turbulent pasts, time in prison and how Inside Out and its skilled counselors helped them to prepare for fulfilling lives in society.

Shelby McCleod, an assistant to Steiner, spoke of her encounters with their clients and how they have been helped.

From the Inside Out, Inc. is located in Oceanside and can be reached at (760) 754-0580.
