'Manipulation in Nature' subject of Camera Club meeting

Fallbrook Camera Club President Lin Craft will discuss nature photography at the club’s March 17 meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Craft will be showing the Photographic Society of America’s presentation “Manipulation in Nature.” With the advent of digital photography and its ease of manipulation, nature photographs often come under scrutiny for their authenticity.

This program is intended to educate photographers on the ground rules for competition in the “Nature” category both locally and nationwide. Craft will show what are considered acceptable enhancements by the Photographic Society of America and what are not.

The Fallbrook Camera Club has monthly competitions in three categories: “Nature,” “Color” and “Travel.” The best of these slides and digital photographs are placed in competition with two other San Diego County photography clubs. It is important that these submissions meet all of the guidelines for eligibility and this program should clarify this issue.

Craft is an award-winning photographer specializing in unique nature and wildlife images from around the world. She is a marine biologist and has been part of the scientific research team sponsored by the National Science Foundation in Antarctica.

The club welcomes all to view this educational presentation at the Community room, second floor, Silvergate Retirement Residence, 420 Elbrook Drive.

Questions about the program should be directed to Judy Jobe at (760) 726-7223.
