Bishop visits St. John's

The congregation of St. John’s Episcopal Church welcomed The Rt. Rev. James Mathes, Bishop of the Diocese of San Diego, on February 17. A festive reception followed the service.

The Bishop’s annual visit was a special day for the congregation as he presided over the confirmation of Leighton Goard, son of Keith Goard.

The Vestry took the opportunity to hold their annual meeting during Bishop Mathes’ visit and elected three new members to their vestry.

The three departing members – clerk Patty Campbell, treasurer Carol Pearson and warden Gail Jones, Jr. – were heartily thanked for their service. Jane Millsap, Mary Mazy and Arthur Brown were welcomed to their positions as the newest members of the church’s governing body.
