Jeanne Kerr

Jeanne Kerr of Fallbrook went home to be with her Lord on March 7, 2008. She is no longer in pain and has a beautiful new body in Heaven.

Born and raised in St. Paul, MN, to George and Violet Hedblum on February 9, 1922, Jeanne graduated high school in St. Paul and held various jobs in various cities before meeting and marrying Wilbur (Pat) Kerr in March of 1947 in Kansas City, KS.

Pat was in the Navy and the Navy life took them from Minnesota to San Diego, then to Washington, DC. In 1951, after retirement, they moved permanently to Fallbrook, where they raised four children.

Pat passed away in 1963, leaving Jeanne to raise the children on her own. She worked as a secretary at St. John’s Episcopal Church for five years but dedicated most of her life to raising her kids.

She was the best mom, grandma and great-grandma anyone could ever ask for. She was always there to lend an ear and never complained, despite the enormous amount of pain that arthritis inflicted on her. Her smile and selfless, sweet disposition touch all who knew her.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband Pat on September 2, 1963. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Patrick and Marla Kerr and Timothy and Laura Kerr, all of Temecula, CA; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Dennis Claman of Murrieta, CA, and Renee and Larry Koch of Fallbrook; sister Lorraine Durrenberger of St. Paul; grandsons Adam Thill of St. John, US Virgin Islands, Todd Kerr, Murrieta, Joel Kerr, Bothel, WA, and Philip Kerr, San Diego, CA; granddaughters Lauran Kerr, Temecula, Mandy Jones, Carlsbad, CA, Erica Boles, Chula Vista, CA, Brandi Rivers, Murrieta, Autumn Kirby, Fallbrook, and April Kirby, Newport Beach, CA; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews in the Minnesota area.

Services for Jeanne were held on March 12 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Fallbrook. A family interment will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary.
