How many people are planning to cook Irish stew for St. Patrick’s Day? CAL FIRE warns that kitchen fires can ruin the best of meals.
Cooks should keep their kitchen exhaust fan or stove hood clean and always keep a tight-fitting lid available while frying foods, so if a grease fire should ignite in the skillet, they can quickly and safely smother it.
They should also remember to turn off cooking equipment before leaving the house or going to bed.
Be fire safe, not sorry!
