Fallbrook peggers win cribbage match

The February Senior Challenge was won by the Fallbrook Senior Center cribbage team. They won 74 games to Oceanside’s 66 wins.

First place went to Oceanside player Rob Herziger, who won all seven of his matches. To preserve his perfect card he squeaked out the last win by one point.

The next seven places were claimed by Fallbrook players. Ethel Williams edged out Peg Palm by 18 pegs, as each had six wins with a skunk. Carol Maston and Norm Peterson took fourth and fifth with six wins without a skunk.

Last month’s winner, Tom Bongard, won the $25 gift card donated by the Albertsons store in Fallbrook.

Matches are held on the fourth Thursday of each month. The next match will be March 27 at the Vista Elks Lodge, 1947 East Vista Way. The Lodge can be contacted by phone at (760) 724-1968. Play begins at 12:30 p.m.

Residence in Oceanside or Fallbrook is not necessary. For more information contact Obie Weeks at (760) 723-3660 or Eileen Haworth at (760) 940-1475 or e-mail [email protected].
