Irish orchestra to bring distinctive style to Fallbrook

FALLBROOK — As part of Fallbrook Music Society’s 30th anniversary season, Camerata Ireland will make a rare Southern California appearance later this month.

This vibrant chamber ensemble has presented concerts on four continents, including performances in China, Poland, England, France and Germany, among others.

The Fallbrook appearance is part of the group’s 2008 coast-to-coast tour of the United States.

Hailed by the press for its “enthralling performances” that “brim with musicality,” Camerata Ireland brings together fine Irish musicians from both the North and the South to celebrate Ireland and its music-making history, featuring repertoire of both classical and modern music.

“This concert will offer our audience an exceptional music experience,” says Brenda Montiel, president of Fallbrook Music Society. “We are honored to have Barry Douglas, one of Europe’s foremost Steinway artists, back by popular demand to perform for us here in Fallbrook.”

The performance will take place on Sunday, March 30, at 3 p.m. in the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts, 2400 South Stage Coach Lane.

A conductor’s preview will be given at 2:30 p.m., which is open to all ticket holders.

Tickets are $37 adult, $10 student, and are available at (760) 451-8644 or online at http://www.fallbrookmusicsociety.org.
