Hamilton to seek 49th Congressional seat

FALLBROOK — Robert J. Hamilton, a resident of Fallbrook, announced last week that he is seeking the California 49th Congressional District seat for United States House of Representatives.

An independent Democrat, Hamilton is seeking to replace incumbent Darrell Issa (R-Vista).

Hamilton says his mission is to focus on the critical needs of the people in the district, to foster an economy that genuinely supports business growth and entrepreneurship and to bring back the image of America, at home and abroad, as a beacon of freedom, hope and opportunity.

Hamilton has been active in local politics and has served as the president of the Democratic Club of Greater Fallbrook. He is a member of the County and State Central Democratic Committees, as well as the Executive Board of the State Democratic Party.

Hamilton’s background includes extensive executive experience with both Bank of America and American Express. He is bilingual, fluent in Spanish, and a veteran of the Vietnam War.

A campaign kick-off event will be held March 18 at 4 p.m. at Pala Mesa Resort with guest speaker Francine Busby.
