Village Rotary hears updates

At the March 11 Fallbrook Village Rotary Club meeting, Maj. Gen. Michael R. Lehnert, Commanding General, Camp Pendleton, Marine Corp Installations West, gave a brief overview of the “War Against Terror” and reported that “with our help, the people of Iraq are returning to normalcy.” The oil is beginning to flow and the economy is improving.

He also gave a brief summation of what the Marines are doing at Camp Pendleton to provide housing for everyone who wishes to live on Base and to renovate some of the older units.

Also at the meeting, President Dan Flores presented a check for $2,003 to Chris Young of Rally for Children. These are the proceeds from their annual hamburger/hot dog/pop sales from their booth at Arts in the Park.

Another guest, Brigitte Schlemmer, outlined the Fallbrook Film Festival, which will be held in Fallbrook April 25-27.
