Discovering our markets

It’s always fun to have a new store in town, especially when we think it will bring new and unique products for us to sample.

I decided to shop at our new Fresh & Easy store shortly after it opened, hoping to find products similar to those at Trader Joe’s. I took my time and browsed every aisle, leaving nothing unseen. What I found was a delightful market with fresh mango salsa that I loved and a couple of unusual and exciting salad dressings.

I then went to finish my grocery shopping at my store of choice, Major Market. I usually shop from my list and always know where to find my favorites. This time, I decided to browse the store just as I had Fresh & Easy, looking for new and unique items to try.

Now, I know that Major has generally carried specialty items that I’ve needed for a gourmet recipe, but this trip opened my eyes to the incredible variety of foods that I have been overlooking. Every aisle was packed full of interesting items to try.

While I’ve been shopping for my basics, the owners have invested in stocking more and more novel and specialty items to satisfy our palates and our adventurous spirits. I encourage everyone to take that same browse and realize the grocery shopping treasure we have right here in Fallbrook.
