In response to Gary Johnson’s letter [Village News, 3/6/08] it is obvious Granite Construction is trying to convince people that opening a quarry in our area is in “our” best interest. I think it’s all about money.

He said Granite “controls” all 414 acres of land for the quarry. He didn’t say they “own” it all – yet. First, they have to make sure they can make their millions; then they will buy the land.

Mr. Johnson wants to promote the quarry as the City of Temecula’s financial savior. Again, it’s money. Thank goodness city leaders realize there is more than that...
