Literacy Week celebrated with Dr. Seuss themes

Maie Ellis had a fantastic Literacy Week recently. They celebrated Dr. Seuss’ 104th birthday by having theme days for the week.

The students enjoyed dressing up in “The Cat in the Hat” colors; picking a twin, like Thing One and Thing Two; wearing crazy socks in honor of “Socks on Fox;” designing and wearing a crazy hat (“The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins”); and wearing green on Green Grinch Day.

In addition to dressing up, the students at Maie Ellis are participating in Accelerated Reader all year and are finding new and interesting books to read.

As a culmination activity, community members, school personnel and Potter Junior High Leadership students came over and read to Maie Ellis students.
